‘Jashn’, is great at combining flavours to create some amazing dishes. While the cuisine is very Indian at heart, there is always an element of surprise that intrigues your taste buds!

The NEW ‘Jashn’ experience menu is a snapshot of the very best (and some NEW) dishes on the menu. It is a set menu consisting of a soup, appetizers, mains & a dessert. It gives you the whole ‘Jashn’ experience in one go! But remember you need to pace yourself (I obviously learned the hard way!!!) and come ready with an appetite and trousers with an expandable waist (hehehe! NO I’m serious!)

The experience started off in true ‘Jashn’ style with the quintessential amuse bouche – ‘Yogurt Explosion’. It’s their best one yet! True to its name, it’s a slurp turned burst of flavour.

Next up came the drinks (not part of the set menu, can be ordered separately) The ‘Peach Ice Tea‘ and the ‘Passion Fruit Bubbly’ came highly recommended.

The ‘Peach Ice Tea‘ has a lovely flavour and is very refreshing. I love how it was served, in a plastic bag, riding a little bicycle !!!

The ‘Passion Fruit Bubbly’, was a visual delight (I’m a sucker for presentation) I thoroughly enjoyed it, may have even felt like a mad scientist. The drink is available in a variety of flavours – watermelon, khus & blue curacao

The ‘Chicken Yakhni’ soup was lovely! The micro greens added a nice touch.

‘Jashn’s’ signature ‘Paani Puri’ Shots were up next.

One of my favourite dishes from the new menu – the ‘Chicken Sukha’ served on a ‘Methi Thepla’ with a ‘Mango Chunda’ (Sweet, mild spicy and sour pickle). Loved all the tangy flavours.

The ‘Beef Mishkak’ served with a tamarind foam was juicy, flavourful and tender.

Sea food lovers will enjoy the ‘Basil Fish Tikka’ – a tender fish fillet marinated in basil and served with ‘tomato chutney’ and micro greens.

Another favourite was the ‘Popiah Prawns‘ – reminiscent of the Chinese threaded Chicken!

Every appetizer was an excellent combination of flavours, presentation and taste. Needless to say I was already stuffed (Did  I mention pacing yourself during the meal? )

In preparation for the mains we were brought a much needed palate cleanser – ‘Rasna Granita Sorbet’ (frozen candied ice) which was served in the cutest pressure cooker ever!

My choice for the mains was the ‘Chicken Kheema Lasagna‘. Again, perfectly flavoured!

The ‘Dal Makhani‘ (a favourite in my home), ‘Rice‘ (fennel scented pulav) accompanied the Lasagna.

Sun Dried Tomato, Basil & Mozarella Kulcha‘ were part of the breads served.

Now dessert!!! (the joy of my life) We had the ‘Edible Flower Pot‘ – a chocolate pot filled with ‘Ras Malai’ and ‘Chocolate Cake’ (waaait whaaat??? pinch me people, please!) served with a chocolate spoon, mint and rose flavoured caviar.

Just before we left, out came the Jashn ‘Smoking Paan Macaroon’.

Note: This is not your typical lunch or dinner situation. It is an ‘experience’ and must be treated as such – I’d say give yourself a good 2 hours maybe 3 if you are a slow eater (you may need to leave in between courses, do a quick jog outside and return. Pants with an expandable waist are a must!). Not being in a rush is the only way to do this menu justice, taking your time to fully appreciate all the flavours, the combinations and the food!

I’ve always enjoyed the food at Jashn. The effort that goes into each dish is always evident. This time, what impressed me the most were the tiny additions on each plate. The devil is truly in the details – right from the flavoured foam, the micro greens, the edible flowers, to the flavoured caviar – tiny elements that come together to give you a fantastic final dish.
